January 15-20, 2013

After we got back from our 26 hour adventure at Great Wolf Lodge, I decided that we would have an uneventful week as humanly possible to decompress. We spent time with a few of our lovely, treasured friends and just simply played. Then mother nature had a bit of a surprise for us.

It all started with the rain. Oh, what a rain it was. It rained constantly for over two days. The kids, of course, loved it.

I was inspired to introduce the kids to one of my favorite childhood movies, Rock-A-Doodle. In this movie, a farm is flooded with a rain that just. does. not. stop. The animals go on an adventure to find Chantecler, their rooster who has left the farm because he has forgotten how to crow. He comes back, crows, and the rain stops. We all crowed like a rooster, and sang the song too.

Instead of stopping the rain, it turned into snow. Whoops.

The next morning, the kids had a ball playing in the first snow of the year. the ground was terribly muddy under the snow, but that did not deter them from playing and making snow angels.

Rainbow Girl had s spectacular time cleaning off the slide.

Rainbow Girl found some tracks that she decided to follow.

Yum, snow.
